soekris can't initialise the cable-select line until combios has started up and read the config, otherwise it doesn't know whether the CF should be master or slave. then it asserts the correct signal on the cable-select line, and tries to reset the flash card, but some flash cards don't reset properly unless you remove power. http://marc.info/?l=soekris-tech&m=111559192823339&w=2 I've had generally good luck with sandisk and innodisk cards so far. others have been very much a mixed bag.
