hi to all,

i have a strange problem upgrading OpenBSD 4.1 to 4.2 on two IDENTICAL
HP Proliant DL 140 G3 servers. While machine 1 runs the upgrade procedure without any problem, machine 2 encounters an error when checking the root filesystem. There's apparently a problem accessing the
Symbios Logic SAS1068 raid controller:

<-- snip -->
Proceed with upgrade? [no] yes
Cool! Let's get to it.
Available disks are: sd0.
Which one is the root disk? (or 'done') [sd0]
Root filesystem? [sd0a]
Checking root filesystem
sd0(mpi0:1:0): Check Condition (error 0x70) on opcode 0x88
    SENSE KEY: Illegal Request
         INFO: 0x8093260 (VALID flag off)
lesystem (fsck -fp /dev/sd0a) ... FAILED.
You must fsck sd0a manually.
<-- snap -->

The controller is exactly the same (model, firmware) on both servers, running the same configuration (raid-1, 2 sata disks).

The currently installed openbsd 4.1 on machine 2 doesn't show any error and runs fine.

Additional infos:

Upgrade is done via pxeboot, using bsd.rd

Any ideas?

Thanks a lot

Harald
