We used HP DL380 G4's at client sites before. But because of some limitations with the SmartArray 6402 and 6i controllers, ciss cannot provide status information if there is more than one volume. So I switched over to using Dell 2950's with PERC controllers. OpenBSD seems to be a bit slower while booting up on Dell 2950's compared to HP but that has not been a problem yet. for us. Since you are not concerned about RAID, DL380 G4's should work well (I don't have a lot of experience with the G5 models) -- Vijay Sankar, M.Eng., P.Eng.
