As long as you can get a network interface correctly configured,

Peter,

I guess I should rephrase my original question as follows:

Is it possible to configure and enable a PPPoE network connection at
install time such that the PPPoE network connection can then be used
to retrieve and install the base system over the Internet?

I did spend more than a few minutes googling this topic and wasn't
able to find anything about configuring a PPPoE network connection at
install time.

I'd appreciate it if you could share the results from your search that
indicate that this is possible.

download the install sets, put them on a local crapbox that serves ftp and you're good to go. if you only have one computer, order a CD or make one.

ordering one helps the project.

Thanks!
