In my experience it's been at least as important to feed switches with clean power as anything else, especially the cheaper ones. Power supplies today, any kind of 'wall-wort' unit just isn't that good. They glitch easily. You'll get better rerformance out of them if you stuff them onto a small ups. I'm not sure they're still made, but the metal Sky Link 'Net 1008' switch I have next to me runs 'till I do something to its food supply. But I don't they they are made these days--too expensive(?). --STeve Andre'
