We use zenoss rather than mrtg, but the following snmp extensions/info
may be useful to you:
http://www.packetmischief.ca/openbsd/snmp/
This offers a way to export some extra info such as hardware sensors
(temp, etc) and offers some info about using the MIB with MRTG.
