i have a couple of PE 1650s with these puppies in them running an OS other than OpenBSD. i found them to be a bit erratic until i upgraded to the latest dell firmware. i'd recommend that anyone planning to run anything on them grab the latest firmware off the Dell support site and upgrade the controller before attempting to install the OS.
i will shortly be trying 4.0 on one of these suckers (probably using Jason's unsupported release.) if anyone cares, i can report on how it goes. richard
