Dell says that the (LCD) monitor cannot do more than 800x600 ( http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/Systems/latls/en/ug/specs.htm ) and that's the most I was able to get from it, using either Driver "neomagic" or Driver "vesa" in xorg.conf. If the graphics chip can do 1024x768, is it the case that the _monitor_ cannot do that? Is the maximal resolution a property of the graphics chip or the monitor? If the graphics chip can not do 1024x768, what does the VESA line above really say? Thanks Jan
