Running inside VMware ESX2.5.1, kernel from 16FEB, I was just getting ready to gather info on why the box was crashing with vic(4) enabled, and this crash happened. Box is still running, so if there is anything else I should gather before a reboot, please let me know.
BTW if anyone has a good way of getting this info out of virtual machines, I'd love to know - this was all copied out by hand. # reboot /etc/rc.shutdown in progress... /etc/rc.shutdown complete. kernel: page fault trap, code=0 Stpped at _bus_dmamap_load_mbuf+0xf: movl $0,0x28(%esi) ddb> ps PID PPID PGRP UID S FLAGS WAIT COMMAND 17066 11825 17066 0 3 0x4082 nanosleep reboot 11825 1 11825 0 3 0x4082 pause ksh 14348 15459 15459 1003 3 0x180 poll smtp-vilter 15459 1 15459 0 3 0x80 poll smtp-vilter 12 0 0 0 3 0x100200 crypto_wa crypto 11 0 0 0 3 0x100200 aiodoned aiodoned 10 0 0 0 3 0x100200 syncer update 9 0 0 0 3 0x100200 cleaner cleaner 8 0 0 0 3 0x100200 reaper reaper 7 0 0 0 3 0x100200 pgdaemon pagedaemon 6 0 0 0 3 0x100200 pftm pfpurge 5 0 0 0 3 0x100200 wait wskbd_hotkey 4 0 0 0 3 0x100200 slacking scsi 3 0 0 0 3 0x100200 apmev apm 2 0 0 0 3 0x100200 kmalloc kmthread 1 0 1 0 3 0x4080 wait init 0 -1 0 0 3 0x80200 scheduler swapper ddb> trace _bus_dmamap_load_mbuf(d0748420,0,d3d77600,1) at _bus_dmamap_load_mbuf+0xf vic_load_txb(d0b72000,d0b74b20,d3d77600,d0b72064) at vic_load_txb+0x24 vic_start(d0b72064,d3d776c0,6,34c4c3c) at vic_start+0x134 ether_output(d0b72064,d3d77600,d0b328f0,d3d82a8c,1800d08b) at ether_output+0x364 ip_output(d3d77600,0,0,0,0) at ip_output+0x98b icmp_send(d3d77600,0,64,d3d6480e,d3d77600) at icmp_send+0x58 icmp_reflect(d3d77600,3,3,0,0,c964a8c0,3500,0) at icmp_reflect+0x1ee udp_input(d3d6e300,14,0,0,d3d6e000) at udp_input+0xa0c ipv4_input(d3d6e300,a0,3,d0b33b00,30) at ipv4_input+0x4f1 ipintr(0,0,0,48,d08b000a) at ipintr+0x70 Bad frame pointer: 0xd08b2db6 ddb> show registers ds 0x10 es 0x10 fs 0x58 gs 0x10 edi 0xd3d77600 end+0x3550b50 esi 0 ebp 0xd08b29d6 end+0x8bf26 ebx 0xd3d77600 end+0x3550b50 edx 0xd0b72000 end+0x34b550 ecx 0xd0b72064 end+0x34b5b4 eax 0xd0748420 pci_bus_dma_tag eip 0xd04665c3 _bus_dmamap_load_mbuf+0xf cs 0x50 eflags 0x292 esp 0xd08b29ae end+0x8befe ss 0xd08b0010 end+0x89560 _bus_dmamap_load_mbuf+0xf: movl $0,0x28(%esi) -----dmesg------ OpenBSD 4.1-beta (GENERIC) #141: Fri Feb 16 11:38:43 EST 2007 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/src/sys/arch/i386/compile/GENERIC cpu0: Intel Pentium II Xeon ("GenuineIntel" 686-class, 1024KB L2 cache) 450 MHz cpu0: FPU,V86,DE,PSE,TSC,MSR,PAE,MCE,CX8,APIC,SEP,MTRR,PGE,MCA,CMOV,PAT,PSE36, MMX,FXSR real mem = 133722112 (130588K) avail mem = 114470912 (111788K) using 1663 buffers containing 6811648 bytes (6652K) of memory mainbus0 (root) bios0 at mainbus0: AT/286+ BIOS, date 04/21/04, BIOS32 rev. 0 @ 0xfd880, SMBIOS rev. 2.31 @ 0xe4010 (45 entries) bios0: VMware, Inc.
