Bash is a corpulant pig. Even the static version of it is fatter than ksh. So if the default for root is reasonable, why not make it the default, period? You should look in the archives for stuff like this. Usually with some digging you'll find previous discussions on things. At least make the effort first, before asking. --STeve Andre'
