Having some familiarity with these methodologies is valuable to anyone
involved in software development. If you're doing your own modelling by
choice at work, then these tools may not be appropriate for you. If you
are a lone coder, or part of a small, tight team, then they'll be more
work than they're worth. But be sure to read the first sentence of this
paragraph again. Learning analysis and design principles isn't a waste
of time, even if you don't end up doing formal models.
