Hello misc, i have following network:
netA ---BridgeA ----- BridgeB --- netB netA and netB are buildung together one subnet and the connection between BridgeA and BridgeB is encrypted (they are connected directly together, but we need the security on this line) This configuration can be found on the website https://www.csh.rit.edu/~jon/text/papers/tunneling It is written bei Jon Parise and is called Virtual Ethernet Tunneling BridgeA and BridgeB are twins with the following difference BridgeA has a DLINK550T (RJ45) and a DLINK550SX (SC), BridgeB has 2 DLINK550SX. !!!! The Problem is that BridgeB (and only BridgeB) sometimes freezes. Not even login on console is possible. My Problem is, there is no kernel message, no message in some logfile, nothing. These stops are totally unpredictable (i had uptimes beetween 6h and 60 days) Installed software is OpenBSD 3.9-release (before I had OpenBSD 3.7-release with the same problems and hoped 3.9 would fix it). I read in man stge that stge doesn't support jumbo frames. Could that be a problem (but I think stge would only discard jumbo frames). I also run a memorytest over a weekend with the only result that the memory seems to be ok. What else could freeze an OpenBSD box !!!! And here some configfiles (i only give you the files for BridgeB, as they are identically except for the ip addresses) /etc/hostname/stge0 (these are the cards connected to the networks) inet 192.168.X.Y 255.255.255.0 NONE /etc/hostname/stge1 (with this cards the bridges are connected to each other) inet 10.0.0.2 255.255.255.252 NONE /etc/hostname.gif0 giftunnel 10.0.0.2 10.0.0.1 up /etc/bridgename.bridge0 add gif0 add stge0 # !ipsecadm flush !ipsecadm new esp -spi 2000 -dst 10.0.0.2 -src 10.0.0.1 -enc aes \ -auth sha1 -key KEY1 \ -authkey KEY2 !ipsecadm new esp -spi 2001 -dst /etc/pf.conf scrub in all no-df max-mss 1240 fragment reassemble scrub out all no-df max-mss 1240 fragment reassemble scrub all reassemble tcp (this is done, because the gif interface has a lower mtu/mss than normal ethernet interfaces) and now the dmesgs of the two boxes: BridgeA OpenBSD 3.9 (GENERIC) #617: Thu Mar 2 02:26:48 MST 2006 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/src/sys/arch/i386/compile/GENERIC
