FWIW, at least in Portugal, Lyca no longer allows "connection sharing" (i.e. using the phone as a wifi access point or USB tethering). I believe Android uses a separate APN for connection sharing, and that's how they filter it. Maybe there are some workarounds for this, but I didn't bother to try, since there are other low-cost providers around. You might have better luck if you can properly control the device's network stack. --
