Hello! I own an M1 Macbook Air.

It is my understanding that Apple tends to stop supporting OS updates after
7 years of a product's release.

Despite almost 6 years having passed since its debut, the M1 is still a
very capable and power efficient SoC in 2026. Given this, I plan on keeping
my Macbook Air for many years to come.

OpenBSD can currently be installed on an M1 Mac using the Asahi Linux
installer and a bootable medium.

However, it can only be installed as a supplementary Operating System in
addition to macOS.

Once Apple stops supporting updates for the machine, eventually most apps
are going to require a version of macOS which is newer than the last
supported macOS version supported for the device.

At this point, it does not make much sense to install side-by-side with
macOS.

Thus, when this occurs, it would be at least *my* preference to entirely
replace macOS and solely run OpenBSD as the sole operating system on this
device.

Is there any way that we could theoretically add an installation option to
the installer when it runs on these devices to be able to install OpenBSD
as the sole operating system for the whole drive?
