Make sure you test it before you need to rely on it. (Also, using echo isn't necessarily a bad idea, though there are faster approaches. If retyping a line because of a typo is a problem, you could for example, build a directory to represent the fstab, one line per file in that directory, names indicating order, and use cat to assemble the lines.)
