There should now be a /usr/lib/gcc-lib/amd64-unknown-openbsd6.8 directory for use by the updated gcc/g++ but for some reason you don't have those updated gcc binaries.
I do not even have a directory /usr/lib/gcc-lib, but I sure had it at a time, I did use gcc before.
Perhaps you ran out of space in /usr or some other problem prevented the sysupgrade from finishing.
Out of space is impossible. Used 8.8G from 131G. The problem is perhaps the so big /dev/wd0a containing everything? It was never before a problem. I am now testing the disc with gsmartcontrol.
Nick's advice is good. There are obsolete file removal instructions in the Upgrade Guide, e.g.
I always did delete then in upgrade68 and upgrade67
Once you have the obsolete files removed, do a manual upgrade from the 6.8 bsd.rd and it should fix things.
I will be upgrading to 6.8 from 6.8. :) Good night Rod.
