I'm so used to ssl webservers, that I forget that the bsd.rd kernel has it's limitations, as all installers have. But I had in the past a complete http mirror of openbsd for amd64 with packages and everything and my own siteXX. It simplified a lot the installation process. And now with the complete automation of the install that has been recently developed, things would be even simpler.
