That should be :

rm /usr/xobj/xorg-config.cache.*
make -f Makefile.bsd-wrapper obj
make -f Makefile.bsd-wrapper build 

instead. 

And check with nm -u /usr/X11R6/bin/luit | grep openpty  that
openpty() is referenced (and not posix_openpt()).

I can't reproduce the issue with that patch and the resulting luit
binary (yes I was able to reproduce it before)
