I used to run OpenBSD/amd64 firewalls on machines that had Xeons with
early EM64T support (actually IBM servers).

One caveat was that Intel didn't support the NX bit that is used by
W^X and the non-executable stack on OpenBSD/amd64. Another problem was
that most people were running i386, even on amd64 hardware, at this
point because they didn't trust the performance, stability etc. of
this platform.
