Hi,
Thanks for lighten me for the right choice, maybe alix build for
gateway/firewall ONLY is just good to go. Other services should be left to
other devices. I agreed samba and squid need a more efficient disk and that
is one of my concern.
My bad if my question disturb others topic -_-
The FW-7535 should be more then powerfull enough for all
your need in one box for a small or medium buisness.
For the alix, I've build one with PFSense for a customer that
need a GUI and performance is ok on a 80 computers office
with a 10/10 Mbps internet connection. CPU average is around
5%, goes often up to 25% and the max I saw was 50%. Around
800-900 State. Don't know how much PPS since it seem like
systat don't show it on PFSense. PFSense use FreeBSD with a 5
years old pf version but it give a idea of the alix performance.

Definitely OT, but I second the FW-7535. Good gear and Lanner is easy
to work with direct even for small projects.
Same with LEI technologie, the're division in Canada.
