a few months ago or as soon as udf was introduced into openbsd 6 years ago :] http://marc.info/?l=openbsd-misc&m=111616730902230&w=2 somebody well versed in file systems could perhaps create a working prototype in no time if they set their mind to it. in theory the rest of the OS world already has read access to any UDF fs.. according to wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_Disk_Format netbsd has a newfs_udf command.. the page is either very out of date, or netbsd is indeed the champion of udf, leaving freebsd and linux behind.. -f -- careful planning will never replace dumb luck.
