Not quite, the internal connection is in deed digital, but not DVI since it
wouldn't be wise to convert to DVI and back for a distance of 5" from the GPU to
the LCD. That is the (sad) reason why you need a ~150$ converter to connect a
laptop lcd display to the DVI port of something.

(btw. the ~150$ converters are not even universal!)
