i had the black screen after exiting X with an ATI AIW 7200. i used the gatos-bin drivers from ports and that issue went away. i don't recall off-hand if i was able to successfully type things at the black screen or not.. but i am leaning towards no. jared - [ openbsd 3.7 GENERIC ( sep 1 ) // i386 ]
