xl is crap.
sk is probably the best you can get currently. and they are
amazingly cheap.

Reliable and not too heavy on the CPU (some chips/revisions have
microcode to do interrupt mitigation in /etc/firmware, grep -3 CPUSAV
/sys/dev/ic/fxp.c for a list).
I don't think there's too much point buying single-port fxp nics new,
since they are usually about double the price of sk, but they are
sometimes available as a better option to rtl8139 on single-board
computers (e.g. Nexcom and Lex), and in some places they're the only
multiport nics easily found (for some value of 'easily').
