MeeGo OS Middleware
Visual Services
The Visual Services subsystem provides the core 2D and 3D graphics
capabilities for the platform, including support for rendering
internationalized text and taking advantage of underlying hardware
platform acceleration for graphics.
But my questions are:
1. The information about the Virtual Services is so little that I
can not understander it well.
Can anyone tell me where can I find more information about the
Virtual Services?
freedesktop.org has most of the stack;it's X, Mesa and such.
2. If I chose meego, I must use the "underlying hardware platform
acceleration for graphics"?
Can I use software acceleration for graphics instead of hardware ?
Nope... You really need to use hw acceleration. You can't currently do
meaningful 3D
in software... and the MeeGo software stack greatly depends on fast and usable
3D
(and apps can depend on this as well)
3. If I use software acceleration for graphics instead of hardware,
what should I do ?
you really should use the hardware acceleration!
