Hi, >I have two questions: >Meego 1.0 is a company works in a close develop env, will it be opened in the >future? >"open" should means not only open the source code and rpm packages, but the >develop process.
Meego is a project hosted by the Linux Foundation, and while companies can use it to make projects, it is not a company. The goal of the Meego project is to make an "open" project, and to make use of open technologies (like gstreamer) where people can contribute. There will also be working groups, projects, etc. that will handle the day-to-day running of the project, and these should be open. >About 6 month release cycle, will meego release a TLS edtion? I think that Greg already answered this one, but here is my 2 cents. Long-term-support with respect to the Meego project could mean bug fixes to existing platforms. Any bug fixes will be made public, so users of the Meego platform have the choice to integrate these into the version they are using, or to ignore it. Meego has many different types of companies with different types of products, each with a different expected lifespan, so LTS is a relative concept and very difficult for the core Meego project to maintain.
