I have posted a very similar idea as a brainstorm http://maemo.org/community/brainstorm/view/stylus_and_finger_friendly_uis/ http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=44447 and I hope it will be implemented by applications developers. For smartphones with both touchscreen and stylus it would be nice to have an autodetection mechanism that could switch between the two modes.
