        Hi Sharon,

I have built CDS's for out PT and OT departments that are
working well for them.

I have one screen for the initial exam and the second for their
daily documentation.

Please let me know if you would like me to send you screen
shots.

        Subject: [MEDITECH-L] PT inpatient documentation

I know this subject comes up, like many others, with regularity.
This time I have a reason to be paying attention!

I'm working with a PT group (Magic 5.5 site) that wants to
(naturally) revise their online documentation. What they seem to want
is:

        1) a single CDS to cover almost all of their treatment
interventions. They envision one field on this screen from which they
would select the types of therapy provided. The selection(s) would then
drive both the billing and the subsequent clinical documentation

        2) a variety of other screens for evals, etc. Of course,
we're talking acute care, acute rehab and skilled nursing rehab, just to
make things really easy.

Would anyone be willing to be contacted for discussion? Would
anyone share samples? What worked/didn't work?

This PT group says they've been very unsuccessful at obtaining
samples, so I think they are trying to reinvent the wheel in a vacuum,
so to speak, and since I'm not a PT, there's certain types of guidance I
cannot give them.

        Thanks! Sharon
