Mary,

I'm sure that Gill Arnold who hosts and manages the list will jump in
here, but here is what he sent me in response to my post:

Daniel,

We request that vendors do exactly that, put their ads in responses to
questions or requests. I'll email this vendor, and let them know how
we prefer this to be handled.

Thanks for the heads up.

Subject: RE:advertisement: ARE YOU SHORT STAFFED?

Hi Dan,

I agree. I was thinking about this and was wondering if advertisers
(like our staffing company) could put "ADVERTISEMENT" in the title of
their message (like this message that I just sent back). This way, if
you don't want to read it, you can just delete it. We do get a lot of
business from the L and therefore don't want to stop advertising
alltogether. Does this seem appropriate to everyone? Sometimes
Hospitals are looking for consultants and see and advertisement and call
us. Those people can look at the message...

What does everyone think?

Thanks,

Mary Everett

I certainly hope that this blatant ad from Inteck does not start a
barrage of ads from the other companies that frequent this list. This
type of post is more appropriate if someone has asked about where to get
temporary staff rather than as an ad out to a captive audience.
