When we went LIVE with Meditech 5.6 we discovered a change in how the
print HERE functionality works in Order Entry. Previously when you set
an order to print HERE in the Procedure dictionary it was not necessary
to define a print format and destination. It would automatically print
a requisition to the printer associated with this terminal. Now you
must define a format and destination for the print HERE function. The
problem is that now the requisition will print at this printer
regardless of whether or not the users choose to print HERE. So orders
that are answered as No in the Print HERE prompt still print HERE.

We use the print HERE functionality for our ABGs. ABGs are drawn by our
lab in most situations so the order prints in the lab. In ICU they draw
their own ABGs so they use the print HERE function so the order does not
print in the lab and they can draw the ABG and send the requisition with
the specimen. With 5.6 we have to define a print format with a
destination (printer) of HERE, but now the ABG requisition prints to
HERE regardless of whether they say Yes or No at the print HERE prompt.

Has anyone else run into this problem and how are you handling it? Does
anyone have a print rule that would suppress printing to a location if
the print HERE prompt is answered as no?

If you have not gone LIVE with 5.5 or 5.6 yet make sure and read
Knowledge Base article 27363 as the OE DTS 10395 associated with this
does not explain this change at all.
