Hi Nancy-
Do you use a FSV update? I have found that if you use the FSV to update
your AWP's and if there is a problem with the package string your AWP can
either be a fraction of what it should be, or exponentially higher than it
should be. If an expensive drug was had the AWP set to a fictitious lower
number and you have high utilization.

A couple things - there are a couple examples of a Top 100 Report floating
around; run that and concentrate on your higher utilized drugs. Second,
look at the expensive drugs in a similar fashion. But one obvious thing is
to make sure your workload hasn't decreased dramatically.

Best of luck - Kevin.

Subject: [SPAM] [MEDITECH-L] Pharmacy Revenue

Hello experts,

Because I am the analyst for Pharmacy I am now being asked to justify why
Pharmacy Revenue is dropping. Have you any of you had to explain this?
If so what did you determine. Several of us are working on this and cannot
determine why revenue is dropping from year to year. We charge by AWP
markup.
Several drugs are going generic so therefore the AWP is less and the patient
charge is less.

Have any of you found solutions that pertain to how the computer is
charging? What are some other possible solutions?

Thanks,

Nancy W Lucas
