Valerie, We are entering all providers into the Provider Dictionary. We receive the UPIN's from the submitting department which can be Registration, Home Health, or Lab (see attached for the form that we use). If they do not receive the UPIN at the time of service, then they look it up before submitting the provider information at http://www.upinregistry.com/.
Unfortunately for the NPI number, there is not a lookup available at this time. We have not yet determined how we are going to collect this number for non-staff providers. Hope that this helps.
