Stuart, thanks so much for supporting Galicaster. I must say that Galicaster is what it is thanks to all we’ve learned by being part of the team that originally developed the "reference" CA (together with Christopher Brooks and all the colleagues from Canada), but we’ve never figured out Galicaster as a replacement for the reference MH-CA. Developing Galicaster was something that we had to do, at some point, to be able to meet the requirements of a specific Teltek's client for its Lecture Capture system. Then we released it because we do think that it can be also interesting for other MH Adopters. As already said in this thread, Galicaster current license is not ECL, it was released under a more protective CC-NC license that permits open use but only for Non Commercial activities. A commercial product can not be based on Galicaster using that license. (I want to be clear about this point). Galicaster code development is done using a Github repository where the code is exposed, bugs can be filed as patches and new features can be submitted. For instance, support for IP-Cameras or Blackmagic cards have been contributions by Galicaster adopters. Reaching the current maturity of Galicaster couldn't be possible for us alone without the support of this small but active community of adopters and friends. With the shortage of resources that OC-Materhorn project is facing and the amount of work to do in the core, I can understand the idea of optimize resources by discontinuing the MH-CA, but I also can understand the rationals against it. Let's see what the final decision of the community is. I'll provide any information needed, but as I'm so involved on this discussion, I prefer to keep myself in the background and abstain from being part of the discussion or the decision.
