I assume this goes into 1.4?  I'm not a huge fan of introducing new
(arguably) functionality into 1.4 at this point, but at the same time if
it gets rid of the bugs then I'll let it pass.  Assuming this proposal
passes, do you have a timeline to getting this implemented?
