Michelle, As the video composition and "preparation" is done through ffmpeg, Matterhorn supports, theoretically, all the codecs and formats that your current ffmpeg installation does. You can see the supported codecs and formats (containers) in your ffmpeg installation by typing:
> ffmpeg -codecs ffmpeg -formats The number of supported codecs and formats depends greatly in the way ffmpegis compiled. For instance, the reason why we are compiling ffmpeg rather than installing it from the repositories is partly because those versions don't support x264 --you have to compile the sources in order to get it. That may be the case with the formats you're trying to use --perhaps you need to compile a certain specific library that allows ffmpegto encode/decode to those formats. That being said, in Vigo we have ingested without problems, as far as I can remember: - Video Xvid+ Audio MP3+ AVI container - Video Xvid + Audio MP1 + AVI container - Video MPEG1 + Audio MP1 + MPEG container - Video x264 + Audio MP3 + MP4 container - Video Theora + Audio OGG + MP4 container Maybe some more, but off the top of my head those are the ones I can remember.
