While it is simpler, there is a problem with this approach. If you do
this, every single hit on your web page will be logged as coming from
the masq box. The web server will have no way to gauge traffic patterns
and log incoming connections under their correct IP addresses. Many
people desire to have this information.
In such a case, it is best to get the ipportfw solution working.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to notice anything particularly wrong with
the setup that was posted. Perhaps it is a routing issue of some kind.
Needs more explanation. :)
