Two things here:

        1) Are you the admin of the proxy server?  I beleive that you will
        have to allow PPTP to be FORWARDED (not proxied) through that box.

        2) Not to get technical here but since they are disabling FTP,
        etc.. wouldn't they get bent if you were bypassing this?
