All you need is a kernel that supports masquerading, the ipfwadm program
and the compiled masq modules correctly installed. You can compile the
kernel on a different computer first (and a faster at thet, with a pentium
or better) within 20 minutes. My 486/33 took a whole day. Same for the
modules.
As for "patches," I haven't heard of any...
