Okay, I said before that Socks5 fixed my problems with ICQ, but I've just
stumbled on a problem and a reason for the problem, but no solution. I
found that incoming connections, such as messages, time out with the
message suggesting that the event be sent through the server. Doing that
works, but I'd rather be able to have connections work properly. I noticed,
as a probable reason for this behavior, that my friends out in the world
see 10.0.0.1 as my current/last IP from within ICQ. This is the internal
address of my masq box. For some reason ICQ reports this instead of the
correct address, which would be the external address of the socks5/masq box.
Has anyone else solved or even noticed this problem?
Do you think this is a problem with ICQ or the socks5 server configuration?
Is there anything that I can do to fix this so that socks5 will work so I
don't have to ipportfw/ipautofw a range of ports?
TIA,
