Just got IP Masq working for my home LAN, works great! I'm very happy.
One question though - why do TCP masquerade entries time out in 15
minutes? I understand why UDP would, but I thought that since TCP was
connection oriented the masquerading rules would just keep the
connection open until TCP was closed down. It looks like the
masquerading code is even aware of the connection closing - when I
close the connection, the timeout moves down to 2 minutes.
I've noticed this mostly because if I walk away from an slogin session
for 15 minutes, the slogin connection is broken. That's kind of unfortunate.
Thanks,
Nelson
