However, if the PPP connection is lost and then re-established then the clients can only ping the IP numbers and not the names ie: 12.14.193.1 but not www.creative-net.net. if I use the following it will then work fine again: on the client machines route del default gw 192.168.0.1 route add default gw 192.168.0.1 effectively deleting and then adding back the default route will re-enable the IP and name resolution. I'm stumped.
