The set-up looks fine. Try pinging from the 486 to the pII's Internet IP.
Since this doesn't involve masq, it should test that the routing is working.
Then try making a TCP connection to an Internet IP address from your 486 and
then check the pII's masquerage table using the "netstat -M" or
"ipchains -M -L" command. If the previous test worked and the second didn't,
it could mean that you have some ipchains configuration already. Run
"ipchains -L" to view your configuration and make sure the policies of the
input and output chains are "ACCEPT" and that there are no rules there.
