Does DOS FTP work
Try this...
Start->Run->ftp
User ftp
p/w email@address
If this works then you are you are probably using a recent version of
netscape or IE. Both of which dont (for myself and a few others anyway) seem
to work.
They use what is known as PASV or passive FTP.
On some ipmasq firewalls pasv work, though it might if you turn off port
filtering (ive not tried it yet).
If you use DOS FTP or some other FTP clients, then they use PORT mode which
is what ip_masq_ftp works with.
Irony: microsoft and netscape adopted pasv as its supposed to work with
firewalls without a helper module, they know most of their customers use NAT
or masq.
