You probably have a cron job that runs at one minute past the hour, that
does an "su" to user news, and does some work. You could avoid that by
putting the job into user news's crontab instead of root's.

identd is a daemon which is launched by inetd (watch the spelling!).
identd's job is to identify network connections that your box makes to
other boxes on the net. They can ask your box to identify the user who
is making the connection.
Your /usr/sbin/in.identd has permissions which do not allow it to be run
by the user listed in your /etc/inetd.conf file for this service. You
should fix the permissions (probably by adding world-execute permission).
