Suppose that every "leftist" worldwide is now campaigning for revolutionary defeatism. How does that work out in practice in Ukraine? A country where, as far as I know, only “Social Movement” rejects both NATO and Russia. But they do fight on the front and, moreover, they represent nearly nothing, unfortunately... But come on; don't be defeatist; how are they going to build a communist party in Ukraine that will realize socialism and apply revolutionary defeatism? Apply it in wartime on the front? And this while they are already under state repression? And how are they going to break the Zelensky regime and take over power to impose a socialist revolutionary defeatism on it? Imposing from above, because how do you want to achieve a referendum on this in wartime conditions? And what about the agency of the population? And which regions may or may not vote? But just a guess on my part; if you present such a program to Zelensky, I fear that he will react more like Trump… And if that party, during its struggle for such ideals could achieve even a tenth of such social upheaval, how will Ukraine prevent the army from being overrun by the Russian army in such civil war conditions? Or will the socialist deus ex-machina ensure that an alternative people's army takes over from behind the scenes? But anyway; let's assume that Ukraine is just a joke state where anything goes. Even then, only the first battle in this war has been won, because that is of course still small beer unfortunately… Because the same exercise must then be repeated in Putin's Russia… A country where the repression of everything that is left-wing or pacifist is twice as great… And moreover, this must happen simultaneously, because if defeatism only wins in Ukraine and carries out this policy, after, say, a month, there will no longer be any talk of an army in Ukraine… Nor of Ukraine itself… And what should the left worldwide do in the meantime? Wait until defeatism wins simultaneously on both sides? Are we then talking about decades or, say, a century or more? ** ** But admittedly; it does make history a bit easier.
