The most significant and dangerous thing Trump is about to do is launch major raids against immigrants in Chicago on the day after his inauguration. The kinds of protests that are needed now in the US are protests to defend immigrants, and immigrant rights. As far as the Democrats go, the Democratic city administration of Chicago, tied closely to DSA and the teachers union, is Trump's second target in his raids. Holman says he will prosecute Mayor Brandon Johnson if he and his administration in any way protect immigrants from raids. Under these circumstances, Marxists must also defend any actions by the city administration to aid immigrants.
