Trump doesn't care about Palestinians. But it turns out that he doesn't care much for Israelis either. The consummate self-interested dealmaker, Trump brokered a still-tenuous ceasefire because he wants a grand bargain involving the Saudis, Egypt, Turkey, the UAE, Qatar, AND Israel. Israel's far right really thought Trump was more interested in a few shabby seething Zionist settlements in North Gaza than an entire region bursting with lucrative new "infrastructure projects, water, rail, fiber, data centers," as his incoming NSA advisor just said. And there will likely be plenty of gleaming Trump-branded towers and loot for cronies and nepo babies like smooth-skinned reptiles, Jared and Ivanka. Trump also gets to own the libs and he may just get a Nobel of his own. Don't think Biden had anything to do with this. It's the same US deal that Hamas agreed to last May. Biden, Blinken, Kamala, and the rest of the White House scum refused to use their power to stop the slaughter, which Trump wielded effectively in just a couple of weeks. This was a genocide of choice by the Democrats. Now, if the ceasefire holds, and Israel will always violate it, it's more the question if Palestinians do not respond to atrocities to come, there is a new jailer coming. Undoubtedly Trump's minions are scheming to construct a new prison for Palestinians in which a "unity government" with heavy Egyptian, Saudi, Palestinian Authority, Israeli influence exerts control. There will be no movement toward Palestinian national liberation or self-determination except from what comes from below. The struggle moves to a new phase. Left apologists for Democrats should hang their heads in shame. In real life and on social media, I encountered hundreds of leftists — not liberals — who claimed "we" had to support the Dems because Trump would be worse for Palestinians. Not only was this attitude utterly dehumanizing by reducing Palestinians to numbers and objects to be sacrificed as long as they serve "our" interests, it was always devoid of any intellectual or political heft. Saying Trump will be worse because he is worse is the definition of a tautology. More significantly, "he will be worse" became a mindless mantra that ignored reports during the election that Trump wanted a grand bargain with the Saudis. But we also didn't need reports. We already knew Trump is BFF with MBS, aka, Mohammed Bone Saw, he wanted a grand bargain his first term, and he covets all the beachfront real estate he can get in the land of the burning sand. There was always reason to be suspect of the notion that Trump would be worse than Biden in terms of policy and not merely bombast like "finish the job." I hope anyone who chastises Palestinian and Muslim Americans for refusing to vote for Kamala because "they didn't know their own interests" — and I heard that from lots of people — think long and hard about how awfully, tragically, predictably wrong they were. Those of you who refused to be cowed into voting for Genocide Joe and Holocaust Harris, and spent the last 15 months doing everything you could to end the genocide, hold your heads and banners high.
