Trotsky and Lenin had two major disagreements from 1905 – April 1917 as I recall from my decades ago research. Trotsky disagreed with Lenin’s conception of the vanguard party/democratic centralism, fearing that it could lead to a dictatorship of the central committee over the party, and of a leader over the cc. Lenin disagreed with Trotsky’s Permanent Revolution thesis that the class nature of the coming Russian Revolution would be led by the working class, even though it was a small minority of a predominantly peasant population. Lenin called for the democratic dictatorship of workers and peasants, which Trotsky called algebraic.
By April, LT saw the correctness of Lenin’s party and joined, while Lenin (especially in his April Theses) called for proletarian dictatorship – (for which he was denounced by the Pravda editorial board of the Old Bolsheviks Zinoviev, Kamenev, and Stalin) as "giving into Trotskyism", which basically was true. Both leaders rose above the level of petty egotism, placing the needs of the revolution first, and thus more than willing to acknowledge the more correct positions of each other.
