Good am Mark. Coincidentally (Or not! Of course all Leftists are following this at least to some extent) - today, Michael Roberts on his blog - carries a piece on the same general area, and focusing on the Chinese state's investment in higher tech infra-structure. It refers back - correctly - to the chip wars. He also refers to the point that I was making in my original note to you Mark, but with much more profundity of course! I knew of, but could not be bothered to search out the Engels points where he talks about the hypocrisy of the British bourgeoisie on tariffs. But Engels is more interesting than either I or even Michael Roberts!
