Not at all. It was an ironic remark. in order to stress that this would be the logical consequence in terms of any protectionist policy not only aimed at protecting US CAPITALISTS (not workers).
And not, I’m not in favor of “unregulated trade”. I simply think that 25% tariffs aren’t “unregulated trade”. So curious as it may seem, 100% tariffs sound to me more similar to “wild protectionism” than to “regulated trade”. Anyway, I’m really enjoying the show of the neoliberal world erecting new trade barriers every day.
